Could anything be further removed from my day to day existence since 1982 than Michael Jackson? For God’s Sake, the man has been a laughing stock since 1990! If I’d known that his death would presage a 7-10 days of wall-to-wall media coverage, I would have been administering CPR to him on the spot.

I know that since the advent of the press, we’ve all been fascinated with celebrities, but can we please find another one to fixate on for now? I have bats getting in the house. Also, I haven’t listened to a Michael Jackson album/CD since Thriller. It was a great piece of work. MJ and Mike Nesmith basically invented the modern music video.
